Mr. Ketring graduated from Mississinewa High School Gas City, IN. He retired in 2004 from Peterson Industries in Decatur, Ark. He moved back to Indiana in 2005. He was a member of the American Legion Post 159 and a member of the Anvets Post 23 out of Hartford City, IN. Mr. Ketring enjoyed fishing, neading, gardening, suffelboard, playing cards and spending a lot of time with his family and friends. He married Phyllis (Harter) Ketring on May 28, 1960 in Montpelier, IN; they have been married for 50 years.

He was the son of the late Glen Ketring and the late Eloise Ketring Long.

Survivors include Wife-Phyllis (Harter) Ketring of Hartford City, Ind., Daughters-Risa (Fred) Foreman of Hartford City, Ind., Cheryl (James) Griffith of Colcord, Okla., Kristi (Bill) Michael of Hartford City, Ind. and Traci Ketring (Laura Cottnell) of Muncie, Ind., Son-John (Sherri) Ketring, Jr. of Siloam Springs, Ark., Brothers-Steve Ketring of Upland, Ind., Mike Ketring of Marion, Ind. and Bruce Ketring of Upland, Ind., Sisters-Betty Jo McKenny and Melinda Mullinex of Marion, Ind., 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grand Children and Several Nieces & Nephews.

He was preceded in Death by: Father-Glen Ketring, Mother-Eloise Ketring Long and Granddaughter-Gretchen Crishen

Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 West Windsor Street, Montpelier, Ind., where the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Funeral service will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 2, 2010 with the Rev. Ferrell Long officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier, Ind
.
