Charles I. Dungan
Charles I. Dungan, 92, formerly of Rural Huntington County IN, (Majenica), passed away at 4:27AM, on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN. He was born on Tuesday, October 9, 1917, in Huntington, IN. He was the son of the late Dellas Dungan and the late Ola (Frye) Dungan.
Mr. Dungan married Mary E. Dungan on June 18, 1967 in Boehmer Church-Liberty Center, IN.
Mr. Dungan resided in Majenica for many years prior to entering Heritage Pointe. He retired in 1980 from the State Bank of Markle (in Markle, IN) where he had worked for 26 years. He was a 20 year member of the Weekday Religious Educators Program, the Men's Markle Barbershop Chorus, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Markle and the Huntington County Horseshoe Club. He was a member and served in many offices at Plum Tree United Church of Christ. He had also been a paper hanger and a painter. He had served in the US Army in the Transportation Corp during WWII.
Survivors include Wife Mary E. Dungan of Huntington, IN. Son-Harold (Wife-Jean) Dungan of Greenfield, IN. Sisters-Betty J. Harris of Warren, IN. Brother-Wayne (Wife-Laura) Dungan of Portage, WI. Grandson Greg (Wife-Susan) Dungan of Hamilton, OH. Granddaughter-Julie Dungan of Indianapolis, IN. Great Grandson-Isaac Dungan of Hamilton OH.
He was preceded in Death by: First Wife-Velma June (Sale) Dungan on Oct 9, 1965, Father-Dellas M. Dungan, Mother-Ola (Frye) Dungan, Brother-Harold L. Dungan, Sisters Mary E. Randol, Alberta Sutton, Alice Allred, Annabelle Highlen, Ruby E. Kreisher.
Arrangements are being handled by Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, Ind., where the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, August 30, 2010 and from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Funeral service will be at Glancy - H. Brown & Son Funeral Home at 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 31, 2010 with Pastor Jeane Spoor officiating. Interment will be at Star of Hope in Huntington, Ind.
